Dian Fossey was an American gorilla zoologist who studied gorilla groups for 18 years in Rwanda. She did a lot of conservation work in Rwanda, including opposing poaching and tourism, as well as attempting to preserve gorilla habitats. She was murdered in 1985.[1]

According to Adam One, Dian "embodied an ideal we [the God's Gardeners] hold dear: loving care for all Creatures." She is one of their more important saints, and her saint day is dedicated to celebrate "interspecies empathy."

She also had a hymn dedicated to her.
